I have been watching for eagles just after sunrise four days this past week, out on the West Miramar portion of the South Broward Water Conservation Area just NW of 196th Ave & Miramar Parkway . This morning an immature flew from the direction of the nest towards the large lake in Sunset Lakes. It was quite far out over the Harbour Lakes mitigation impoundment, so my shots are not very good. It seems to have some yellow on its bill and maybe some white on its head, suggestive of an early third year juvenile. Wing feathers are long and worn more like a 2nd year bird, so it is difficult to age it. Poor light may be distorting the pattern.
